Ownership & history:

Domaine Bouteiller consists of two estates next door to one another, Château Lanessan and Château de Sainte Gemme. They have been in the Bouteiller family since the 18th century. There is currently something of a renaissance taking place since talented winemaker Paz Espejo took charge in August 2009.

Vineyard & location:

The domain is in the heart of the Médoc close to Saint-Julien, with prestigious neighbours such as Château Lagrange and Château Gruaud Larose.

Harvest, vinification & ageing:

The fruit is harvested by machine and screened on a sorting table. The juice is fermented at a low temperature in order to lock in the freshness and fruity aromas. Vatting is short in order to highlight the roundness of the tannins.
