Ownership & history:

Vignobles Courselle (Courselle Vineyards) started out in 1952. In 1972, Francis Courselle, a young engineer and oenology professor, took charge. Over the course of the next thirty years, the size of the estate increased from four to 80 hectares, spread over three properties: Château Thieuley, Clos Saint-Anne and Château Saint-Genès. Francis's daughters Sylvie and Marie now run the show and have inherited the family passion and talent. Château Thieuley has firmly cemented itself in the top five white, rosé and red Bordeaux producers with an international reputation for excellence.

Harvest, vinification & ageing:

Machine harvest to pick at optimum maturity with a final sorting by hand. Cold maceration for a fortnight at 5°C in order to extract the primary fruity aromas. Traditional red Bordeaux wine fermentation followed by ageing in oak barrels for one year.
