Print the sheet

Ownership & history:

Both Château de Gironville and Château Belle-Vue were bought by Vincent Mulliez in 2004. He then made huge investments in the infrastructure and built up a highly skilled team. The resulting wines exude quality and have established an international reputation for excellence.

Vineyard & location:

The estate is located in Macau in the heart of the Médoc, near to the village of Margaux. Consequently the vineyard has a number of prestigious neighbours, such as Châteaux du Tertre and Giscours.

Harvest, vinification & ageing:

Blackcurrants, blackberry and coffee notes emerge from this attractive ruby/purple wine. Medium-bodied, elegant, nuanced, and moderately tannic. Medium to long finish with toasted, cherry stone aftertaste.

The grapes are picked by hand. Cold pre-fermentation for one week to extract the primary fruity aromas and maintain the grapes' freshness. Three weeks of standard red wine vinification in stainless steel vats to keep the fruit expression. Malolactic fermentation in oak barrels for one third of the production for a smooth blending of tannins from the wine with the oak cask. Ageing in oak casks for twelve months before bottling.

Vintage :

45 % Cabernet Sauv. 45% Merlot 10 % Petit Verdot
