Ownership & history:

This estate has been in the Naud family for five generations. Since 2000, Frédéric Naud and his wife Lise have been managing the vineyard with passion and respect for the family's winemaking tradition.

Vineyard & location:

Château La Plaige sits on a hillside overlooking the Dordogne river on the eastern edge of the Bordeaux appellation. The combination of clay and limestone soils leads the owner Frédéric Naud to offer powerful and elegant wines.

Harvest, vinification & ageing:

Mechanical harvest to pick quickly at the perfect moment. Traditional red Bordeaux vinification in stainless steel vats to keep the primary fruity aromas. Ageing during 18 month minimum in concrete vats to soften the tannins.

Tasting:

The nose shows forest fruits and crushed strawberry notes. The mouth is rich with silky, ripe tannins and a concentrated body. Château La Plaige goes excellently with flame-grilled beef, roast lamb and other savoury dishes.
