Ownership & history:

This estate has been in the Naud family for five generations. Since 2000, Frédéric Naud and his wife Lise have been managing the vineyard with passion and respect for the family's winemaking tradition.

Vineyard & location:

Château La Plaige sits on a hillside overlooking the Dordogne river on the eastern edge of the Bordeaux appellation. The combination of clay and limestone soils leads the owner Frédéric Naud to offer powerful and elegant wines.

Harvest, vinification & ageing:

Standard red Bordeaux vinification is carried out in stainless steel vats, the goal being to maintain clean, primary fruit aromas. The wine is then aged for 18 months in concrete vats prior to bottling, allowing the tannins to soften a little.

The nose shows forest fruits and crushed strawberry notes. The mouth is rich and silky with dense, supple tannins.
Château La Plaige makes an excellent accompaniment to flame-grilled beef, roast lamb or other robust dishes.

Vintage :

100% Merlot
